Add 7L of water to one 1kg Hydrohog block, and 60 minutes later, it will have absorbed the fluid forming a 100% natural ‘hydrated mulch’ to add to your soil or compost.

The hydrated Hyrohog mulch stays full of moisture for months on end, with little or no maintenance or ‘topping up’ that moisture.

Once Hydrohog has absorbed up to 7 Litres of water, mix the pulp with your choice of soil or compost at approximately 1/3 pulp and 2/3 soil or compost. The soil/compost you are adding should be measured by weight and not by the litres volume on the bag.

As a rough estimate, one block will be the correct mixture for a 1×50 litre bag of compost and enough to keep your plants hydrated for months on end.

Adding Hydrohog to the depth of a couple of inches of your pot or basket achieves the best results quickly. Hydrohog bonds into a hydrated mat and absorbs natural rainwater too.

You can choose to add a little more water to accelerate the ‘matting’ procedure of your soil in pots, hanging baskets and your garden, even your allotment to hydrate your plants, vegetables and vegetation without the need to water at the end of every day.
